Vagator Beach - Perfect Sandy Beach

Most beach destinations boast of perfect sandy beaches, good waters, great food comfortable living spaces and not to heavy on the pockets. Some beaches don’t live up to this and some do, Vagator beach in Goa belongs to the one that do. Vagator beach is located to the north of Goa, 22kms away from the capital Panjim, near to the more famous and crowded Anjuna beach.Vagator has it all, emerald green waters that changes colors, pure white sands, with black rocks scattered all across the beach. Not to mention the usually picturesque palms and the real life fishing village bordering the shores. History has left its marks and at Vagator it is obvious in the 500 year old Portuguese built fort. A trek to the fort is a very much done thing, in return you get to have some of the best views that one could ask for. The old black walls look down on small fishing villages, breaking through the thousands of coconut trees that dot the entire area.
Not very far from the sea front are two fresh water springs. The hinterland is worth the exploration but not without a personal vehicle, preferably a four wheel drive to handle the rough roads.
Vagator also offers some of the best local cuisine at a reasonable rate. It also holds some great parties come winter, a big craze with lovers of trance and psychedelic music dished out by some of the best DJ’s imported from Europe and available locally.
Vagator has yet to be discovered in a big way, thus you can easily find room for you to enjoy the gifts of nature without being jostled by the crowds. Come season time and all the limited resources like shacks and resorts which are very few in no will be occupied to the hilt.

In the initial days of my visit to Goa, little did I know about the Queen of beaches, Calangute. I was wondering what is it that makes others admire the beach by this name. It didn’t take much time and the doubt was vanished as such when I reached the place. The beach gave a warm welcome with the sun kissed sands and pampered palm trees. The name of the land means the land of fishermen, my guide explained. There are some other opinions also which all reveals that this beach is well known for art and coconut trees. I noticed that the beach is dotted with coconut trees which made me arrive at a conclusion that even if the name is connected to it, there is nothing wrong in it.
This beach was a heaven when I found that the sand and the surf were awesome for a sea lover like me. I enjoyed the beach in a lazy mood. The cool breeze was so enjoyable and it was driving me to sleep at times. So after a short while of rest on the beach, I changed up my mind to go for a bath in the sea.
As I noticed the Calangute beach, I could see that the total feel was like that of a carnival. the beach had a wonderful presence of people who have come to make their holiday colorful and I got chances to mingle with people of varying culture which I always love do during my world trips. I later moved to the stalls to find out if there was something that can catch my attention.
Now I am a little confused on what all to buy, because there were the mouth watering snacks on one side with trinkets made of sea shell on the other side. The charm and beauty attracted me making me feel that this will give a memorable experience in the future for sure.
