This church was built in order to honor the lady of miracles. It was believed by the people that the lady had saved them from a plague. It is situated in Brittona on the river banks. However the original origins of the church are in Lisbon. The then pope clement said that this was one of the churches outside Portugal dedicated to Nossa Senhora de Penha de Franca. The church is placed on a small hill. The upper section of the tower is octagonal in shape. It is said to be just opposite the capital city of Panjim, where river Mondovi cuts through.

Mapusa is the capital of Bardez taluka. It is home to Church of Our Lady of Miracles, the church is located 2 km east of the famous Mapusa market. The beautiful structure came into existence in 1594. However it was rebuilt in 1961. The locals here also refer it as St Jerome. It is looked upon as a sacred place by people from different castes. The church has been reconstructed many times in past. It is one of the best tourist locations Mapusa taluka has. The church had also seen bad times when it was set on fire during the freedom war in 1961.
Reis Magos Church

The church is situated in the north Goa. It came first into existence in 1555 AD. It is noted as one of the oldest Churches of Goa. Franciscan Friars founded this holy place; however the monument is dedicated to the three Magi-Kings. It is the first Church in the taluka of Bardez. To the right of the altar in the Church lies the grave of Viceroy Dom Luis da Alameida. Also, there is a Shrine near the stairs that is dedicated to Our Lady of Hope. The Reis Magos fort is neighboring the church; the Church is close to the Mandovi River.
Se Cathedral Church

Se cathedral is beautiful architecture. It boasts of the wealth and royalty the Portuguese possessed when they ruled Goa. It is the biggest church in the whole of Asia; even back home in Portugal you won’t find a church that can match this gigantic structure. It is ranked as one of the most holy places for Christians. It has a Tuscan exterior along with square towers. One of the towers has the largest bell you can see. There are as many as 15 altars in the cathedral and a huge altar that is devoted to Catherine of Alexandria. This beautiful monument is located in north Goa, some 9km away from Panjim.
Church Of St. Francis Of Assisi

The church is situated in old Goa, about 9 km away from the capital city Panjim. The present church came into existence in 1661. However before this there was another church consecrated to holy ghosts in 1521. In 1964 the doors of the church were opened as a museum. The ceiling at the entrance of the church has been given a touch of classic Indian architecture. As for the exteriors they are given a Tuscan style. The structure is made from laterite; also lime plaster is used. The interiors of the church look similar to that in the bible. The wooden statue of St. Francis of Assisi is placed in one of its chapels.
