The church came into existence in 1577 AD; however the work undertaken was never completed until 1695. This Church had a small miraculous story of a lady. The Hindu lady wished to visit the village where the Church was located. She was completely unable to do anything, and was on the verge of death. However she was helped to the St Ana Church. When she had recovered, she happily embarrassed Christianity. The church was declared as a national monument by the Portuguese in 1932. The church is dedicated to St Ana. The unique feature about this church is that there is a confession hole where you can make confession. The hole is in the wall of the church.
