Goa has some of the world’s best loved beaches!  Here are some tips for Goa visitors to make their first trip to Goa a memorable experience.

When to Visit: Unless you love the beach and the rains, don’t plan to visit Goa in July or August—it’s pouring cats and dogs.  April to June is usually the peak season.  Plenty of sunshine attracts the most tourists during these holiday months. If you don’t like too much people traffic, October to November is a good time to visit. Christmas is carnival time in Goa – go all out and experience Goa in its true colors!

Accommodation: Book your accommodation well in advance, so that you are staying in a centrally located place.  Remember, there are kinds of accommodations available in Goa to suit your budget and style. Panjim, the capital of Goa, would be an ideal place to halt.

What to See: Goa has much history to offer as well as the beach life so stay while, and get to know the history and the hospitality of the local Goan people. Contact a tour guide to make sure you don’t miss the not-so-commonly-known tourist spots. While there, you must taste the local cuisine—Pork vindaloo and Goan fish curry are two of the favorites!  If your stomach is a bit weak be careful with the spices and drink bottled water!

For the complete Goan experience, be sure to be a part of the night life—Konkani music and dancing on the beach under the Goan moonlight.
