Mae de Deus the ‘god mother’ statue was once in old Goa. After the ruins, it was shifted to its present location. The miraculous statue is now being visited by thousands every year. The church has architecture of a Gothic pattern. The beautiful dome shape is the reason behind its beauty. The foundation stone was placed in 1867. It was built in 1873; however its beauty is still not lost. At night the church is well light up and looks very beautiful. It is located in Bardez. The architecture of the Gothic style is the perfect example of their society. It has been a 135 years since it came into existence.
